Total 118 strains were identified as the HDB, which were mostly soil bacteria. Most isolated species were Brevibacterium sp. (24/118). Susceptibility testing of antimicrobials to 118 strains of the isolates was highest for aminoglycosides (95.8%). Other antimicorbials tested showed a range of 33.1 – 89.0 %. These findings suggest that soil bacteria can play an important role in the clinical problem of Gidoh. Though aminoglycoside showed high sensitivity to the isolates, we do not recommend using these antimicrobials because of concerns with the development of drug- resistant bacteria.
